What is a COVID-19 fit to fly certificate?
Not to be confused with a fit to fly letter, a fit to fly certificate is a medical certificate that confirms your fitness to fly – and it usually has to be signed by a Doctor. At Fit2FlyTest we can only issue you with a COVID-19 fit to fly certificate if your test results are negative for COVID-19.
We offer a digital fit to fly certificate as part of our Fit to Fly COVID-19 PCR Test, or you can opt to receive a paper copy of this certificate for an additional charge of £10. If you test negative for COVID-19 then we will provide you with a digital COVID-19 fit to fly certificate signed by a medical professional.
Do I need a COVID-19 fit to fly certificate?
A COVID-19 fit to fly certificate will show your airline that you are fit and well, and have no symptoms of COVID-19 present. It will also show the country that you are intending to travel to that you have a low risk of spreading coronavirus in their country. Many airlines and countries have put restrictions on travel from the UK in order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
How to get a fit to fly certificate
Check with your airline what type of travel documentation you need, and then place your order with Fit2FlyTest. We can supply you with your results within24 to 48 hours of us receiving your test to give you peace of mind that you can travel safely – on receipt of a negative test result.
How long does a fit to fly certificate last?
Your fit to fly certificate shows the airline that you are fit and able to fly at the time of your flight. Your result may not be accepted, therefore, if it was achieved weeks or even months before you are supposed to be travelling. Therefore, you will need a new one for every time you intend to fly. Your certificate will show the date and time at which you took your sample, typically this has to be no sooner than 48-72 hours before departure, but this should be checked with your airline and destination country.
With the outbreak of coronavirus, and variants continuing to develop around the world, your airline or the country you are intending to travel to, may specify exactly how recent your fit to fly certificate must be.
